What do we do?
myELEN.com (my Electronic Loan Exchange Network) is a Czech portal focusing on financing microfinance, cooperative and development projects in developing countries. Via myELEN.com everyone can financially support the chosen entrepreneur, a whole group of them or a micro-financial institution and get back the principal together with fixed interest. Since 2006 we help support finance sustainable development in developing countries. While the capital is abundant in the developing world, two-thirds of the population live in poverty and without access to financial services in developing regions. In myELEN.com the aim is to create a bridge between these two worlds: the one where the capital is in surplus with places where the capital is missing.
How do we do it?
We follow the seven principles of Social Business, developed by Bangladeshi economist, founder of Grameen Bank and Nobel Prize winner Muhammad Yunus. Our objective is not only profit, i.e. achieve financial and economic sustainability, but also to overcome a specific problem that jeopardizes the entire society or nature.
Why do we do it?
We believe that supporting the proactivity of individuals gives them a lifetime chance. We believe that the prosperity of individuals leads to the prosperity of the whole society. We believe that small amounts can make a big difference. We believe that every single one of us has the power to make a positive impact in this world. With time being such a coveted commodity, wise investments (be it time, money or skills) need to be channeled correctly for the most beneficial output. In line with our values, the platform is a clear way of channeling money without the fluff or empty promises.
